Eucalyptus oil is scientifically known as Eucalyptus Globulus, Eucalyptus oil is colorless to pale yellowish liquid with a refreshing, penetrating and woody-sweet essence, It is also known as eucalyptol, fever tree, blue gum, gum tree, red gum and stringy bark tree.

This oil is mainly used in combination with other ingredients to make a variety of products, such as lotions, creams, tea, tinctures, and lozenges. It is also used to make mouthwash, antiseptics and toothpaste. It is also used in products that are applied to the skin to treat wounds, burns and ulcers.

Therpeutic Properties
The therapeutic properties of eucalyptus oil include anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, anti-rheumatic, anti-neuralgic, antispasmodic, antiseptic, antiviral, balsamic, astringent, decongestant, cicatrisant, depurative, deodorant, expectorant, diuretic, hypoglycaemic, febrifuge, stimulant, rubefacient, vulnerary and vermifuge.
Diluted eucalyptus oil is applied directly to the skin for swelling and pain of respiratory tract mucous membranes, genital herpes, joint pain, and nasal stuffiness. In dentistry, eucalyptus oil is included in products used as sealers and solvents for root canal fillings.
Being an effective decongestant, it is used to treat upper respiratory inflammations. Additionally, this is also used to treat bronchitis where the oil when inhaled, reaches to the bronchioles and lungs and soothes chest infections and congestion. When applied topically, it is used to treat acne, joint and muscle pain.
