Vermicompost
Vermicompost is organic fertilizer prepared by composting different types of organic waste. Different microorganisms and earthworms play a crucial role in preparing vermicompost.
In the process of vermicomposting, a decomposing mixture of vegetable or food waste, bedding materials, and worm castings is recycled to produce organic manure for crops and plants.
As an environment-friendly technique, vermicomposting is an efficient, odorless, and non thermophilic procedure of reducing the naturally decomposable waste volume. Also, it helps detoxify the toxic ingredients of such waste to prepare organic fertilizer (as plant feed).
Vermicompost promotes crop production and yield. It adds to the soil health, fertility, soil structure creating conditions for healthier plant growth.
Advantages of vermicompost by Ishi International
- Extremely rich in all essential plant nutrients
- Encourages faster and healthier growth of plants
- Improves overall plant life and the shelflife of produce
- Improve soil environment organically
- Neutralizes the soil protection owing to the presence of live earthworms and cocoons to increase the population and activities of earth warm
- Prevent nutrient loss and increases the efficiency of chemical fertilizers, if used
- Promotes decomposition of organic matter in the soil
- Rich in vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and hormones. For instance, auxins, gibberellins, etc
- Increases soil aeration, porosity, bulk density, and water retention.
- Prevents plant rotting or dying
